The lace covers the shoulders and and gathered sleeves. The devore, or "burnt velvet" torso of the dress has a polka dot pattern. The velvet on both the front and back of the dress is vertically all the way down, and the bottom is finished with two layers of gathered lace. You can refer to the photos for additional description.
