If enough -1/-1 counters are put on a creature you control at the same time to make its toughness 0 or less, Host of the Hereafter's last ability will see all of the +1/+1 counters it had when it died as well as the -1/-1 counters it had, and the same number of each of those types of counters (plus any other applicable counters) will be put onto the target creature
It does cost quite a bit of mana, but the effect is worth it for how powerful it is
(Note: If you are, prepare the pocketbook, because they're going for $50.00 now, hence why I'm always saying that rares and mythics aren't what will help white dig out of its hole.) Let us know in the comments, and we'll see you at the table you can always pull some leaves out of to make longer (if you're willing to put in the effort, that is)
In Commander, resolving one of these bad boys (or having one put into play via more nefarious means, such as with Muxus) is often enough for you to pull well ahead of your opponents on board
