Surrak and Goreclaw Surrak and Goreclaw works both with big creatures and big mana commanders, and it spreads around an important keyword for getting aggressive decks over the hump: trample
Play the Seven-Drop When I look at average mana value distributions for Commander decks (that is, how many cards at each mana cost are in a deck), I usually see a large number of one, two, and three drops, and then a massive plummet in the curve after that
But even treating this as a 4-mana 3/2 that draws you a card sounds really good, and you can obviously divide up when you cast the two halves to make it feel even better and if you always have the mana available when it dies, it will just keep coming back When it has a big enough friend around, it is going to be an intimidating attacker on any board and that alone is enough for the Ruiner to be relevant almost all game long
My favorite clone, Dacks Duplicant, comes to mind, but something like Mirrorform could also be hilarious with this
I love it when obscure creature types get a good commander
It also helps Mickey look like hes casting powerful auras of magic from his staff
