They arent always bulky warriors swinging giant swords (though of course, there are a few of those too)

Cheap spells and cantrips work really well with Talrand as a cheap way to make more creatures

Whats good in Commander is often terrible everywhere else, so having a surplus of these in a Standard set - or even one meant for Modern and beyond - often detracts from the number of cards thatll actually see play in that format

Kamiz, Obscura Oculus can really make use of these cards given the persistent ability to find unblockability in that deck
