a couple of hairline cracks and little paint loss here and there

but definitely this produced some sort of elephant

and a "disc number" 1G91-2 carved into the base--which would date him between approximately 1940-1970

Nice Old 14 Inch Carved Whimsy Chain papier mache napkin rings and once could easily divideThis old whittled whimsy chain, carved from one piece of wood, has a lot of character, with squarish links that very much show the hand or blade, rather of its maker. I might hang this one on the wall from one nail at the center with the ends hanging down, as it feels like they want to rattle against each other, ideally in a very old, maybe haunted, house! 14" l x 13 16" w. There is one rough patch on one link, as pictured.
