Striking Old Snapshot of Swimmers at Asbury Park, NJ hand-built This is just a fragmentA relatively rare snapshot of bathers on the beach at Absury Park, New Jersey, c. 1920 I believe, complete with the woman at center sporting a swim suit bearing the name of the seaside resort, which was established in 1871. Just outside the frame of the photo to the left would be the crowded boardwalk above. What I love about this snapshot, though, is its intimacy and specificity.
