This is a pair of classic Mid-Century Danish Modern silver-plate candleholders

It appears to be carved of stone

and perhaps in attempt to portray a specific beloved pup

but I'm glad they exist

This is the third of three by Edgar S. Yergason that I found together, who signed and dated the back off one of them in 1859. A quick search reveals that Yergason went on to fight in the Civil War, and to become a well known interior designer in Hartford, CT.
