Almost no loss to the original green paint on its eyes

and of interest at least as much for what they reveal about the painter as the subject

Like this one! I believe it is Bauhaus era, made by the Aktlen Industrial Glass Company in Dresden, Germany c. 1920s 30s, with the red lettering printed on transparent film suspended inside the glass, and then a layer of wire mesh
